BESTHORPE PRIMARY SCHOOL - THE PLACE WHERE EVERYONE CAN SUCCEED

SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS - SEN

A child has special educational needs if he or she has significantly greater difficulty in learning than the majority of children of the same age. This includes those pupils identified as exceptionally able.

A child will also be classified as having special educational needs if he or she has a disability which either prevents or hinders them from making use of the education facilities provided for children of the same age in other schools in the authority.

We believe that all pupils are entitled to achieve their full potential. We aim to achieve this for our pupils through a policy of appropriate inclusion and will draw on good and best practice in order to do so.
